Our storyline borrows from these events but will exist in it's own continuity. 24 BSW4 Biggs Darklighter was born on Tatooine. According to Andy Mangels' Essential Guide to Characters, Biggs was born 24 years before Star Wars. But Biggs is "eight years older" than Gavin Darklighter according to Michael A. Stackpole's Rogue Squadron which places Biggs' birth 18 years before SW4. But in the Star Wars novelization, when Luke sees Biggs, the text refers to him as an older man, one who had finished his training at the Imperial Academy - so I went with Mangels' version. 21 BSW4 Tycho Celchu was born on Alderaan. In Rogue Squadron, Wedge says Tycho is a year older than he is. "Nine months" replied Tycho. 20 BSW4 Wedge Antilles was born on Corellia. According to LucasFilm, Wedge was twenty years old at the time of A New Hope even though the Star Wars novelization describes Wedge as "teenaged." 18 BSW4 Luke Skywalker was born. Luke's age has always been approximated to be 18 in Star Wars A New Hope. Corran Horn was born on Corellia. Iella We/ssiri pointed out that Corran is approximately 2 years younger than Wedge Antilles in Michael A. Stackpole's I, Jedi. 15 BSW4 Qwi Xux was born on Omwat. According to Andy Mangels' Essential Guide, Qwi Xux (from Kevin J. Anderson's Jedi Academy Trilogy) was twelve years old when a/ssigned to the Maw Installation, which went into operation approximately three years before Star Wars: A New Hope. 11 BSW4 Falynn Sandskimmer was born on Tatooine. In Aaron Allston's Wraith Squadron novel, Wedge Antilles tells Falynn she is 9 years from suffering the same effects of age he is experiencing at the ripe old age of 28. 10 BSW4 The Han Solo Trilogy - The Paradise Snare Han Solo entered the Imperial Academy at Carida. There he met and trained with Soontir Fel and Loka Hask. The Han Solo Trilogy places Han's entrance into the academy here. Han and Fel are shown training together in X-Wing Rogue Squadron #25. As well as Fel and Loka Hask flying combat "sims" together. Gavin Darklighter was born on Tatooine. Gavin Darklighter's age is said to be sixteen in the Rogue Squadron novel, which takes place six years after Star Wars: A New Hope. 7 BSW4 Han Solo graduated valedictorian and Soontir Fel graduated salutarian from the Imperial Academy at Carida. "Seven years before Yavin" is stated by Tycho Celchu in X-Wing Rogue Squadron #22. According to The Essential Chronology Han and Fel graduated the same year. 3 BSW4 The Maw Installation was built. The Maw Installation's creation was placed three years before Star Wars: A New Hope in many peoples' timelines. Jagged and Zena Antilles were killed at their fueling depot in outer Gus Treta in the Corellian Sector after pirate captain Loka Hask ignited part of the station in an attempt to escape from the Corellian Security Force. They were survived by their son Wedge and daughter Syal. According to Steve Sansweet's Star Wars Encyclopedia, Wedge was sixteen when his parents were killed. But in the Dark Horse comic Star Wars Handbook volume 1 Wedge is said to have been seventeen. I'm going with 3 BSW4 because 4 years before ANH just seems too long. The death of Wedge's parents is shown in flashback scenes of Michael Stackpole and Darko Macan's XRS: The Phantom Affair #2 comic. 2 BSW4 Corellian smuggler Booster Terrik was arrested by Corellian Security Force officer Hal Horn. Terrik and sentenced to five years imprisonment on Kessel. Booster Terrik spent five years on Kessel before his release at the time of The Empire Strikes Back, according to The Bacta War. We know he was arrested after Wedge's parents were killed, since Booster appears in the flashback sequence in The Phantom Affair. 1 BSW4 Ackbar was rescued from Imperial slavery by Rebel agents. Admiral Ackbar's rescue took place after the Death Star was completed, according to numerous sources including Kevin J. Anderson's Darksaber. "Crucible" (Marvel Comics Series #17 - Without frame story) The flashback story in this Marvel Comics issue apparently takes place about a year before Star Wars: A New Hope. The story happens on Tatooine just before Biggs leaves for the Academy. This placement comes from Rich Handley's humble opinion in his Exhaustive Guide to Star Wars Comics. Biggs Darklighter enrolled at the Imperial Academy at Prefsbelt IV where he met Derek "Hobbie" Klivan. Tycho Celchu was in the same class and all were trained by Captain Soontir Fel. Their training is shown by flashbacks in X-Wing Rogue Squadron #25 - "The Making of Baron Fel". Iella We/ssiri joined the Corellian Security Force. Iella We/ssiri describes her joining CorSec as being "about one standard year before the Emperor dissolved the Senate." Excerpt from Michael Stackpole's The Krytos Trap. Biggs and Hobbie graduated and were a/ssigned to the Rand Ecliptic. Working with a rebel cell on Ralltir, they took control of the ship and joined up with the Rebellion. This story has been mentioned in Dark Horse's X-wing series issue #25. The Farlander Papers Keyan Farlander joined the Rebel Alliance starfighter corps. After training he flew numerous mi/ssions and discovered a degree of Force sensitivity before flying at the Battle at Yavin. This story, part of LucasArts' computer game X-Wing, is named for the Rebel pilot that stars in it. According to the story, Keyan Farlander flew the Y-Wing seen leaving the exploding Death Star in Star Wars: A New Hope. Imperial commandos and ex-Allaince extremists battled over the famous holodrama star Garik "Face" Loran. Loran was injured in the fight, escaping on his own, leading to reports of his "death". Face's kidnapping and attempted rescue is mentioned in Aaron Allston's Wraith Squadron novel. The news of the kidnapping and Face's supposed death was reported just before the destruction of the first Death Star. 0 ASW4 X-Wing Rogue Squadron #1/2 This comic was published by Dark Horse Comics and available only through Wizard magazine. Liberation of Gerrad V General Crix Madine led a Y-wings and Rogue Squadron in liberating the planet Gerrad V and captured Imperial "ace" Kasan Moor. Moor, an Alderaanian, would join the Rebel Alliance and fly with Rogue Squadron on a series of mi/ssions against hidden Imperial strongholds. Moor's defection is revealed in the Rogue Squadron 3D arcade-style computer game. 1 ASW4 The Jade Moon Kasan Moor, having defected after her capture, lead Rogue Squadron to the moon of Loronar, home to construction facilities where the Empire's biggest warships and special weapons platforms were built. This mi/ssion begins Chapter II of the Rogue Squadron 3D arcade-style computer game. Imperial Construction Yards Kasan Moor led Rogue Squadron to Balmorra, a factory planet at the Outer Edge of the Galactic Core in the Nevoota System that builds advanced weapons. Rogue Squadron travels to Balmorra in the Rogue Squadron 3D arcade-style computer game. Assault on Kile II Wedge Antilles was captured during Rogue Squadron's attack on the Imperial Enclave, an enormous facility that supported the Empire's naval operations. The details of Wedge's capture are revealed at the end of this mi/ssion in the Rogue Squadron 3D arcade-style computer game. Rescue on Kessel Luke Skywalker lead Rogue Squadron to rescue Wedge Antilles from an armored hover train transporting Imperial prisoners across the surface of Kessel. Wedge's rescue is played out in the Rogue Squadron 3D arcade-style computer game. Prisons of Kessel After being rescued himself, Wedge Antilles revealed where other Rebel agents were being held on Kessel. It also takes place just before "Colonel" Veers promotion to the rank of General which he holds in The Empire Strikes Back. Booster Terrik was released from the Imperal prison on Kessel after serving a five-year sentence for smuggling. Booster Terrik was released from Kessel after the attack at Derra IV, but before the evacuation from Hoth. This is mentioned in Michael Stackpole's The Bacta War. A Rebel Alliance convoy on the way to Hoth was attacked at Derra IV by an Imperial squadron including Major Soontir Fel and 181st Squadron. All personnel were killed, including Commander Narra, commander of Red Squadron. Luke was promoted to Commander. The attack at Derra IV occurs just before The Empire Strikes Back according to the TESB National Public Radio drama. STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK The Battle of Hoth. The Stele Chronicles introduction mentions that the Empire attacked in force and the Rebels had just evacuated Hoth. I no longer remember who or where I saw it but they deserve credit for the format and early research. :-) ** |
